What’s the Average Cost of Cialis?

Question:

I’m finding it more and more difficult to get and keep an erection, and I have scheduled an appointment with my regular doctor to discuss what can be done. I’ve heard about Viagra and Cialis and know that these drugs can help me overcome my symptoms of ED.

I’ve also heard that Cialis is by far the longest-lasting of the two drugs, and I would prefer that over a drug that’s shorter-acting. I’m curious to know what the average cost of Cialis is and whether it’s sharply higher than Viagra.

  1. Answer:

Of all the ED drugs currently on the market, Cialis on demand is far and away from the longest-lasting. However, because Cialis comes in two different formulations, it’s important to opt for the higher-dose Cialis (10- or 20-milligram tablets) rather than the lower-dose (2.5- and 5-milligram tablets) that are used for daily Cialis therapy.

A recent price check of three major brick-and-mortar drug retailers as well as longtime online facilitator eDrugstore.com reveals that the average price for a 10-milligram dose (the recommended starting dose) of Cialis is $37.63.

This price is calculated based on the purchase of 10 Cialis tablets of 20 milligrams each that are then split in two to produce 20 doses of 10 milligrams each. As of this writing, the current average price for 10 Cialis tablets of 20 milligrams is $752.69, or about $37.63 a 10-milligram dose.

If you’d like to save money and don’t mind using a generic version of the drug, the average price for a 10-milligram dose of tadalafil, Cialis’s generic equivalent, runs about $26.40, a savings of more than $10 over a similar-strength dose of the brand-name drug.
